Sarah lives with her husband and kids at the Rutba House in Durham, NC. She is an ordained Baptist minister who preaches often and is writing her first book entitled Creating With God: the Holy, Confusing Gift of Pregnancy.

Dan lives in Durham and works closely with Urban Hope, a ministry among teens in the Walltown neighborhood. He has worked within Durham Public Schools and coaches a basketball team in Durham’s city league.
PROGRAM DIRECTOR, SHARE THE WISDOM
Ann Atwater is deaconess at the Mt. Calvary United Church of Christ and veteran civil-rights leader in Durham, NC. She has received multiple awards for her service, including the 1982 Rosa Parks Award.
TEACHERS
Shane is a founding member of the Simple Way, and lives in the Potter Street Community. He is an author, activist, and not a shabby circus performer.
Ángel was born in Mexico City and grew up in Los Angeles. He has worked and studied in Mexico City, Peru, and Brasil. He lives in Durham, NC, and works for the Food Bank of North Carolina.
Evan is director of the Spiritualty Shoppe, based in Motrose, Colorado. He is the author of Praying the Scriptures (InterVarsity) and The Brazos Introduction to Christian Spirituality (Baker).
Maria lives with her husband and children in Lexington, KY. She is a member of Communality, a missional Christian community in Lexington, received her M.Div from Asbury Seminary in 2002, and is pursuing a PhD in Christian Ethics at the University of Durham, England.
Tim co-authored Inhabiting the Church: Biblical Wisdom for the New Monasticism. He lives at Church of the Sojourners, a church community in San Francisco, and works part time as an RN, providing home nursing for the uninsured of San Francisco. Tim is also a primary teacher/preacher at Sojourners.

Chanequa serves on the faculty of Shaw Unvierstiy Divinity School as assistant professor of pastoral care and counseling. She is pursuing ordination as an elder in the United Methodist Church and lives in Durham, NC with her family.
Jason Byassee is a research fellow in theology & leadership at Leadership Education at Duke Divinity, a United Methodist minister, and author most recently of The Gifts of the Small Church.
Isaac Villegas, a co-founder of the Rutba House, currently serves as pastor of Chapel Hill Mennonite Fellowship. He also tends a garden in his front yard and writes a column, “Life of the Body” for the Mennonite Weekly Review.
